Roles and Permissions
Compare workspace roles and understand which areas and conversation actions each role can access.
Workspace Roles
Workspace roles determine which parts of OpenSpeechAI a member can open and which actions they can perform.
Owner
Controls the workspace, billing, team, product configuration, and every workspace conversation.
Administrator
Manages the team and product configuration without access to subscription management.
Responder
A seat role intended for working with assigned conversations. Availability depends on the workspace invitation flow.
Reviewer
Reviews assigned conversations, adds internal notes, and updates their workflow status.

Assigned-conversation access
Responders and reviewers see My Conversations instead of the full management navigation. They can open only conversations assigned to them in the active workspace.
Owner
The owner has full workspace access. Owner-only responsibilities include subscription management, AI summary generation, and destructive conversation controls such as archive and delete.
There is one owner for each workspace. The owner cannot be removed from the Team page.
Administrator
Administrators can manage workspace operations without controlling billing. They can:
- See all workspace conversations
- Assign conversations and update statuses
- Invite and remove eligible members
- Manage agents, knowledge bases, contacts, forms, and dashboard operations
An administrator cannot remove the owner or another administrator.
Responder and Reviewer
Responder and reviewer accounts are focused on assigned work. Both roles can see an assigned conversation, add internal notes, export its transcript, and change its status.
Current invitation availability
The current Team invitation dialog exposes Reviewer access. Do not rely on Responder availability until it appears as an invitation option in your workspace.
Check Your Role
Open your user menu and select Settings. Your role appears with the active workspace details. The sidebar automatically shows only the destinations available to that role. See the Settings dialog on Workspace Overview.
